William Earl Lee was born in Eutaw, Alabama. He went to the University of Alabama where he was a two-way, three-year starting tackle. He was named All-American on the 1934 Alabama football team that became national champions. Bill played professional football for the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Green Bay Packers. He wrestled in California in the off-season as "Alabama Bill". After serving 16 years as Greene County's sheriff, Bill retired in the early ‘70's. He is deceased.
