Robert Ross Marlow was raised at the Baptist Orphanage in Troy, Alabama. At the University of Alabama Bobby was spectacular in gaining 2,560 yards. He gained 233 yards against Auburn in 1951. After 34 years, he is still Bama's number one career net-per-carry-player with 6.3 yards. In 1952 he was All-American and in 1953, first- round draft pick by the New York Giants. However, Bobby opted to go to the Canadian Football League where he was later named to the All-Time, All-Star CFL team. He died in 1985.
