Richard Todd was born November 19, 1953 in Birmingham, AL. He was a Parade High School First Team All-American in 1972 in Mobile, AL. Under Coach Bryant at Alabama, Todd had the distinction of never losing a conference game in his three years from 1973-75. First Team All-SEC in ‘75. MVP of the ‘75 Sugar Bowl, MVP of the South Team in the ‘76 Senior Bowl. Ran for 16 TD’s and passed for 16 while at Alabama. Entered professional football in 1976 as the number six pick of the New York Jets in the first round and was the first QB selected. Led the Jets to the AFC play-offs in 1982. Selected by teammates in 1982 as the MVP of the Jets. Spent 11 seasons in the NFL with the Jets and the New Orleans Saints. He resides in Sheffield, AL.
