Kenny Howard – Born July 29, 1926 in Crossville, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University in 1948, where upon he became the Head Trainer and continued in that position until 1976. He was Assistant Athletic Director at Auburn from 1976-’80. He is a member of the Auburn A Club and is a charter member of the Football Lettermen’s Club. He served as trainer for the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team in 1952 and the Olympic Swim Team in 1976. Served as the Head Trainer for the 1977 and ’79 World University Teams. He also served as trainer for the Blue-Gray All-Star game and the Senior Bowl. From 1980-’95, he was Public Relations Director for the Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation in Columbus, GA. He is an honorary member of the National Athletic Trainers Association HOF, is a Charter Member of the Alabama Trainers Association HOF. In 1998 he received the Outstanding Trainer Award by the All-American Football Foundation. He is an Honorary Member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. In 1999 he was inducted into the DeKalb County Sports HOF. In September of 2000 inducted into the City of Auburn’s Walk of Fame. The Auburn Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame honored him with the “Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football” award in April 2001.
