Auburn ’s basketball coach he was named SEC Coach of Year twice (’84 and ’89). In ’85 led the Tigers to their first SEC Tournament Championship in school history. The ’85 squad was the first team in school history to make it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. His ’86 team was the first
Auburn squad to make the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. His ’84 squad became the first team in
Auburn history to advance to the NCAA Tournament. First coach in
Auburn history to have a twenty win season. Only coach in
Auburn history to date to have three consecutive twenty win seasons (’84-’86). Third all-time in wins at
Auburn (173).
