Mac McLendon was born in Atlanta in 1945. Moved to Alabama as an infant. Won the State Junior tournament in Alabama in ‘61 and ‘62. Won the Future Masters in 1961. Won the Dixie Junior in ‘62. Won the State Amateur in ‘62 and ‘66. In college he was the SEC champion in ‘65, ‘66 and ‘67 at LSU. Inducted into LSU Hall of Fame. Made first team All-America ‘67. Won PGA Tour Tournaments at the Magnolia State Classic in ‘68, the Southern Open in ‘76 and the Citrus Open in 78. Won the Walt Disney team championship with Hubert Green in ‘74.
