Born December 29, 1958 in Hialeah, FL.   Head Swim Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s teams at Auburn (1990-2007).  He won more national championships than any coach in Alabama history.  He won twelve over all, seven men championships and five women championships.  He was the first coach in NCAA history to win both the men’s and women’s national championship in Swimming in the same year and he has done it four times.  He received the National Collegiate and Scholastic Swim Trophy twice (highest award given in swimming in the U.S).  He was named NCAA Coach of the Year (Men’s or Women’s) eight times.  He has won 19 combined SEC Titles.  He was a five time American backstroker in his own right at Auburn .
