Bill Cody played football at Auburn University. He was All-SEC for three consecutive years from 1963-1965. He was the UPI Defensive Player of the year in the SEC in 1965. He was selected as an All-American Linebacker in 1965, as well as an Academic All-American. He played in the 1963 Orange Bowl and the 1965 Liberty Bowl. He was named to the Birmingham Post-Herald Auburn Team of the ‘60s; (1967—70) and was selected to play in the 1966 Senior Bowl. He played with the Detroit Lions (1966), New Orleans Saints, and the Philadelphia Eagles (1972). He served as a Team Captain for the Saints and the Eagles.
