Buck Johnson played collegiately at the University of Alabama from 1983-86. Johnson was named All-SEC three consecutive years from 1984-86. He is Alabama’s fourth leading all-time scorer with 1,896 points. He ranks eighth on the Crimson Tide’s all-time rebounding list with 933 rebounds. In 1985 and 1986 he was named to the All-SEC Tournament team. He was a member of the Gold Medal winning USA Team in the Junior World Championship in 1983. Johnson was drafted in the 1st round of the NBA Draft (20 pick overall) by the Houston Rockets in 1986. He helped lead the Rockets to the playoffs five of the seven years he played for the team. During his NBA career, he scored 4,617 points, averaging 9.2 a game. He also played in Europe for eight and a half years. He was an All-Star six of the eight years.
