Foster played 17 years in the major leagues (1969-1986) for four teams (San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, and Chicago White Sox). He led the National League in home runs two consecutive years from 1977-78 and in RBIs for a major league record three straight years. He was chosen Most Valuable Player of the National League in 1977. He played in five All-Star Games; earning game MVP honors in 1976. He played in three World Series for the Reds and 13 World Series games, hitting .326 with six RBIs. He had a .274 career batting average with 348 home runs and 1,239 RBIs. He is a member of the Reds All-Time roster.
