The greatest sprinter in Auburn history. He was a three-time Olympian and 1976 Olympic Gold Medal winner. While at Auburn, he won the NCAA Championships in the 100m twice (1976 and 1977) and the 200m in 1976. During his career, he won 14 SEC Championships and led the Tigers to successive SEC Indoor Championships from 1977 to 1979. He won two Pan-American gold medals and a World Championship gold medal. From 1991-96 he served as head coach at Auburn University. In 1997, he became the men’s head track coach at the University of Alabama and retired in 2011.
