Evans played golf at Auburn University from 1977-1981. She was named Auburn’s women’s head golf coach in 1994 and remained at the helm for 21 years. During her time on the Plains, Evans led Auburn to eight SEC Championship titles, 14 NCAA Tournament appearances and finished top 10 at the NCAA Championship seven times. At Auburn, Evans’ players received 29 All-American selections, 57 All-SEC selections and 71 SEC Academic Honor Roll selections. Prior to her time at Auburn, Evans spent six seasons as the assistant men’s golf coach at Georgia Tech, where she won four conference championships and her players received 13 All-American selections. Evans is a five-time SEC Coach of the Year and won the Golf Coaches Association National Coach of the Year Award in 2002. Evans was inducted into the National Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2008.
