Lee May played five years in the minor leagues after signing with the Cincinnati Reds in 1961. As a Red in 1968, he batted .290 for the season and the following year had his best season with 38 HR and a career high 110 RBIs. For 11 consecutive years, he drove in 80 or more RBIs and hit at least 20 HR. He was a three-time All-Star. In 1972, with the Houston Astros, he had a 21-game hitting streak, which included three home runs in one game. In his 18-year career he had a .267 lifetime batting average, had 354 home runs, 1,244 runs batted in and played in 2,071 games. He was inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 1998 and Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 2006.
