Oscar Gamble played 17 seasons in the major leagues for seven different teams and had a career batting average of .265. His best overall season was in 1977 with the Chicago White Sox where he had a .297 batting average, career highs in home runs (31), RBIs (83), 75 runs, and 22 doubles. His best year hitting was in 1979 when he played for both the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees with a .358 average. He finished with more career walks (610) than strikeouts (546) and accumulated 200 home runs and 666 RBIs throughout his career. He played in two World Series with the New York Yankees.
