Wu Winslett was a member of the junior class that started football at Tallapoosa County High in Dadeville. He went on to be a triple-threat at the University of Alabama where he never lost a game in his three years. During those three years, the Crimson Tide won three Southern Conference championships and two national titles at the Rose Bowl. Winslett was the first southern football player to be named to the Associated Press All-American First Team. In 1992, he was recognized with the Paul W. Bryant Alumni-Athlete Award.
